It's a common spot to be in. You like your street. The kids like their school. The commute works. But the house is out of room, and every month it gets a little more obvious.

So do you move, or do you build more space where you already are?
When an addition makes sense
When the house works but the space doesn't, adding square footage usually costs less than the transaction costs and higher mortgage of a move. That's the core of it. You keep the location you picked and fix the actual problem.
The free estimate gives you a real number to compare against moving, so you're not guessing.
What kinds of additions we build
- Garage additions and expansions
- Room and main-floor additions
- Interior reconfigurations and wall changes
Sometimes you don't need more square footage at all. You need the square footage you have to work differently. Moving walls or reworking a layout can solve the problem without building out.
And if your basement is still unfinished, that's worth a look first. Finishing a basement is usually the most economical way to add living space, since the structure is already there.
Engineering comes first
An addition touches structure, so it starts with engineering and a city permit, not a sledgehammer. Structural plans get drawn and stamped, and we coordinate that engineering for you. Then we file and manage the permit with your city, whether you're in Denver, Arvada, Thornton, Lakewood or somewhere else in the metro.
How the project runs
- Free estimate. We walk the house, talk through what you need the space to do, and scope what it takes to get there.
- Engineering and permits. Plans get stamped and the permit gets filed and managed with your city.
- The build. Foundation, framing, roof, systems and finishes, sequenced by one contractor.
- Inspection and walkthrough. The city signs off, we walk the space together, and the 2-year workmanship warranty starts.
One crew, one point of contact, from foundation to final finish.
What it costs
There's no flat rate for additions, and anyone who gives you one without seeing the house is guessing. Foundations, spans and finishes vary too much. Every addition we build is engineered and quoted individually, and you get a free written, itemized estimate before any commitment.
Why permits matter even more here
An addition that isn't permitted and inspected is a problem waiting for your next appraisal or sale. Ours are built to pass inspection and appraisal. Our permit history is public record, so you can check our work across the metro before you hire us.
Questions to think about before the walkthrough
You'll get more out of the estimate if you've thought through a few things first:
- What do you need the new space to do? A bedroom, an office, more garage room?
- Is the problem total square footage, or how the rooms are laid out?
- Is there an unfinished basement that could solve part of it?
- How long do you plan to stay in the house?
There's no wrong answer. It just helps us scope the right project instead of the biggest one.
